Adopt a dog or cat
Open your heart and home to a pet in need.
Thinking about adopting but not quite sure? Try fostering first!
You can foster for up to two weeks to see if the pet you’ve selected is the right match for you, your family, and the pet. It’s a great way to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy — including your new furry friend!

Volunteer Program
KARES is committed to continuing our positive, lifesaving efforts for the animals and people of Hawaii Island and we need your help. Volunteers are needed at Petco and as fosters. Your donation of time and love saves these precious lives.
Become an Ambassador
Tell your friends and family. Encourage responsible pet ownership in your community. Help us find the perfect pet and pet owner match.
Spay and neuter all of your pets
This is essential to control pet overpopulation and prevent increasing numbers of feral cats and homeless dogs and cats.
