Stryker, Joy, Mooney, and Honey
Meet Stryker, Joy, Mooney, and Honey! Stryker is the biggest of the bunch and tough little rough and tumble boy. This is little sweet Joy! She’s such a sweetheart and cutie! Next is Mooney! Mooney is a favorite around here. Her half moon shaped white marking on her nose got her the name. She’s a sweetie too! Last we have Honey! She’s sweet as honey and a total lover! GEORGE
George needs a foster! This sweet boy was dumped in Holualoa and saved by a good samaritan who now has a medical emergency. George was found emaciated, cold and scared. His rescuer called KARES for help and we immediately helped with getting George food and medicine.
George is between 1-2 years old and is a whippet/hound mix. We are happy to report that he has gained weight. He was 28lbs when found and was 39 pounds at his vet appointment yesterday. He is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.
George has soulful eyes, a calm demeanor, and wonderful whiskers. He does great with other dogs and doesn't seem to mind cats. Calling all Shar Pei lovers! Lainey isn't just a pretty face, she is a cuddly, intelligent and very people focused love bug. A wrinkly sweet heart with great Velcro dog potential! Her resilience and good nature are truly remarkable after being tied to a tire in the forest and left cold, scared and with no water or food.

LATTE
Latte is a very sweet girl. Her foster mom reports that she gently takes treats with a soft mouth and gets along well with the 3 bigger dogs in the household. Latte loves belly rubs. She walks great on the leash and is quickly learning recall. She waits patiently to have her kennel door opened and she is 90% housetrained.

BELLA
Did you ask for upbeat & sassy?!!! Meet Bella! This sweet girl, is full of life, packed with energy, and very food motivated. Bella walks best in a harness or vest! She does great in a fenced yard and loves to do the zoomies! She is good with chickens!
Bella can be a little hesitant with strangers, but once introduced, especially if you have treats, she warms up quickly. Bella is about 40lbs, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
Bella is doing great with her foster sister, but needs slow introduction to other dogs. She does not do well cats.

DIDI
Get ready for hugs with me, Didi! I'm 65 lbs and super loving at 3 yrs old. I love to follow my hooman around in the garden. I'm also excited to show my toys. I'm very proud that I have learned to sit and lay down for treats. I love treats! I'm not that into barking, unless I see a cat. I sometimes get to go on hikes too, with my friend Tuffy, who also lives at my foster home. We get along even though he's a little smaller than me. Astrid is a sweet and loving Pittie, who loves people, getting petted and playing with stuffie toys. She’s about 3.5 years old and ready for her new forever family. Astrid loves to go for walks and would best as an only pet. Her tail is always wagging. She is happy to see everyone!
HERA
Hera (aka Momma) is ready for her forever home. She was secured after wandering in Hawaiian Acres for a few weeks and sadly we haven't had any luck finding anyone looking for her. We don't know much about where she came from or her history, but she's come a long way from the woeful dog she was when we found her. She's just over 50 lbs, 3-4 years old, heartworm negative, and recently spayed - no more litters for her! She's discovered the wonderful world of peanut butter treats and ear scratches, and is ready for a family that will love her like she deserves.
Hera is quite a goofball, very sweet with the best smile, and pitter-patters her toes when she gets excited. She is content and calm with daily exercise.
Hera is very smart, eager to please, and could quickly become a great pet. Since she's been with her foster humans, she hasn't met a person she doesn't like, although she is not fond of cats or chickens.
She is feeling much better, but her current foster situation isn't ideal. We are hoping to find a forever home quickly, or at least another foster that is better suited to continue helping Hera be a great addition to a family.

NONA & SOFIE
Because two are better than one, right? Nona and Sofie are two sweet girls found abandoned in Ocean View. They were pregnant and gave birth to 15 pups within days of rescue.
Nona and Sofie are a bonded pair and need to be placed together.
Nona is very social, but Sofie is still very scared, and needs time to build trust. Sofie loves her foster dad and will go to him anytime. The girls will do well in a fenced yard hanging out-- they are great watch dogs! Nona and Sofie will alert you when strangers come by, but will stop barking as soon as the stranger goes past. They are responsive to voice commands to stop barking if needed.
They are leash-trained, and love walks.
